Sympathy for Grewal
Skippy the Wonder Dog has a good post Sympathy for Grewal, that I agree with almost completely. Grewal's shown himself to be pretty stupid with many personality flaws. But he's more to be pitied, I think, than despised. Note especially Skippy's closing point--this could all be the work of an over-eager staffer. That's highly plausible. (I hope to return to this soon. But my 'day job' involves dealing with documentary evidence--some of it fragmentary, some of it tampered, sometimes by several hands. Skippy's suggestion is highly plausible. How to tell? Try to find specific reasons that specific things have been cut: see here for a satirical version.)

Is the veracity of any of the original eight minutes released by Grewal hmself contradicted in any way by the latest material?

Mark. That first 8-minute tape is (as far as I can tell) part of the Murphy-Grewal discussion of 18 May. Nothing in it comes from any other tape. I think (but am not sure) that it is an independent editing. It cuts a little more out of the tea exchange, if I recall.
But the most recent file changes are all from the two telephone tapes.

The original eight minutes cut out the tea server. But it was released by the CPC, not by Grewal himself.

It appears frpm all the "deleted" posts that you're catching the ire of some of the more radical members of the Blogging Tories, Buckets. They apparently are resentful at all the bad publicity youve been hiliting at Grewal and the Conservative Party, when they should be mad at Grewal and Harper and whoever tried orchestrating this mess).

out seems to show Canadians aren't too impressed with their efforts.
