Harper announces that Grewal will take stress leave

From the CBC:
A statement issued by Conservative Leader Stephen Harper says that Grewal had been feeling significant pressure lately.
"Earlier today, Newton-North Delta MP Gurmant Grewal informed me in writing that he would be stepping down from his position as co-chair of the Standing Joint Committee for the Scrutiny of Regulations, while the current investigation takes place," Harper said in the statement. "I look forward to Gurmant reassuming these responsibilities when these matters are resolved."
You know Canadian politics must be weird when the Americans take notice: ABC News.

"Stress leave".

"Stress leave"? Don't you at least have to have a note from your doctor? Or do a crying jag at your press conference?

I think that Mr. Grewal has now joined Mr. Robinson as the only Canadian parliamentarians to have taken "stress leave". Sorry, I can't resist the irony quotes.
