The Grewal affair began when Gurmant Grewal, the Conservative MP of the Newton-North Delta (BC), announced to the press late Wed. May 18 that he had been approached by the Liberals and offered rewards to entice him to cross the floor, allegations that the Liberals immediately denied (here). Grewal, however, had taped the meetings, setting off one of the weirdest stories in recent Canadian politics.
